Expanding the Lullaby Project in Greece

06-03-2026

For nine years, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens, Greece—in partnership with El Sistema Greece and New York’s Carnegie Hall—has presented works from The Lullaby Project, in which people with diverse experiences work with composers and songwriters to transform personal stories about relationships with children into original musical works. This year, El Sistema Greece includes a Musical Connections extension, with original compositions based on true experiences that touch upon contemporary social issues. Songwriters include parents of a child on the autism spectrum, a woman who has dedicated her life to special education, a group of intersex individuals speaking for themselves, people in the Second Chance School of Korydallos Prison who connect with family through music, and more.
