TUTTI Passeurs d’Arts: A Living Dynamic at the Heart of Communities

TUTTI Passeurs d’Arts is a network of children’s and youth orchestras in France, committed to creating learning environments conducive to the development of children from all backgrounds. Our commitment naturally aligns with the global family of programs inspired by El Sistema in Venezuela and its founder, Maestro José Antonio Abreu. We share the deep conviction that orchestral practice transforms life paths and opens doors where none have seemed to exist.
One of our most accomplished initiatives, TUTTI Bretagne, embodies this vision in a particularly concrete way.
TUTTI Bretagne is a wind orchestra in the province of Brittany, bringing together between 70 and 150 musicians, depending on the project. Founded over a decade ago in the city of Fougères, this ensemble demonstrates the power of a collective that goes beyond the usual frameworks of music-making.

The orchestra regularly works with people with disabilities, creating moments where music becomes a truly accessible shared language. In addition, TUTTI Bretagne takes part in solidarity initiatives, including benefit concerts for the Restaurants du Cœur, one of France’s largest food aid organizations, serving tens of millions of free meals per year.
These actions are not peripheral; they lie at the very heart of the project. They give music its full human meaning, affirming that artistic practice can be a direct force for social connection and human solidarity.
Over the years, the orchestra has performed on prestigious stages, including the Olympia in Paris and the Palais de l’UNESCO during a concert paying tribute to Maestro Abreu. These moments are not only artistic milestones; they represent the shared journey of a group growing together.
Recently, TUTTI Bretagne took part in a deeply moving tribute at the Mont Valérien memorial site, where members of the French Resistance were executed during World War II. In this place of memory and mourning, the music carried a unique resonance, expressing dignity, remembrance, and tribute.

In various and distinctive ways, all the orchestras of TUTTI Passeurs d’Arts are guided by a dynamic of combined social and artistic vision. Central to this vision is the leadership of Maestro Yefren Carrero, the artistic director of TUTTI Passeurs d’Arts. Yefren’s journey between Venezuela and France nourishes an approach deeply rooted in the spirit of El Sistema.
That approach became truly international when, together, we helped to build the Grand Philharmonic Children’s Orchestra of Odienné, in Côte d’Ivoire. At the same time, we are preparing new projects in France, particularly in the Paris region, with the ambition of developing new orchestras in areas where the needs are greatest.
Wherever we work, one observation stands out clearly: the children who would benefit the most from access to artistic practice are still, all too often, those who are excluded from it. This reality drives our action.
We have made it our mission to reduce this inequality by creating programs that are accessible, demanding, and deeply human, spaces where all children can find their place, express themselves, and grow within a collective.
TUTTI Passeurs d’Arts continues its journey with the conviction that every orchestra created is a concrete healing response to the fractures of our time, and a promise offered to those who need it most.
