Africa-Europe Cultural Exchange Grants

The Goethe Institut, in partnership with Expertise France and Institut Français, invites proposals for two different grants supporting artistic and cultural exchange projects between African and European artists:

Mobility grants for artists and cultural professionals aim to support transcontinental travel within Africa and between Africa and Europe for artistic research, professional development, and cultural exchange projects. Travel costs of up to €400 within Africa and €1,800 from Europe can include accommodation, daily allowances, and project expenses, as well as support for applicants with children or accessibility needs. Applications can be submitted here and are reviewed on a rolling basis.

The Connect and Create program welcomes proposals for artistic collaboration, research, training, and exchange programs between African and European partners over a 18–24 month period. Existing partnerships and projects that focus on young people, new creative practices, inclusion, and eco-responsibility will be prioritized. Grants range €20,000–60,000 and cannot exceed 50% of the total project budget. Apply online by December 14.
