British Royal Music Schools Become More Diverse

For over 100 years, Britain’s Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) has supported music education in the U.K. and across the world. A new survey, the ABRSM Repertoire Diversity Report, highlights the organization’s commitment to diversify the music they commission, publish, and include in their syllabuses. In recent years, they have featured much wider representation; their composer mentoring program champions next-generation composers from underrepresented backgrounds.
