CIM Fellowship Opportunity for Black and Latinx Musicians
Did you know that Black and Latinx musicians currently represent less than 17 percent of U.S. music faculty? The Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM) is working to address this imbalance in our field, opening doors through its Future of Music Faculty Fellowship. Selected fellows will participate in a six-month program that will prepare them as leaders in music and academia. The 2023 program will be hybrid, kicking off in person at the SphinxConnect Conference in Detroit (Jan 26–28). The conference will be followed by four virtual sessions with special guest speakers before closing in June with a gathering at CIM. The program is free and covers all expenses, including travel and lodging. Early-career Black and Latinx professionals who work or aspire to work in academic settings are encouraged to apply by September 30. Applications must include a resume, two letters of recommendation, two written essays, and a video essay.
