Music Offers Hope to Young Musicians in Gaza

In this Reuters special report, young people in Gaza share how music offers them hope and eases their fears in the midst of war. Teachers from the Edward Saïd Conservatory are bringing music to young people in Gaza amid ongoing attacks on the city. Their presence has had a tremendous impact, evinced in the hopeful words of an aspiring lute teacher: “I hope to teach music to children so they can see beauty despite the destruction.”
