European Music Policy Exchange Launches

09-21-2022

The European Music Policy Exchange, the brainchild of Music Cities Network and the Center for Music Ecosystems, is hosting the first-ever music policy think tank for European cities. From September 2022 – April 2023, the think tank will host a series of themed roundtables with European partners, examining the role that music plays within the social, educational, environmental, and economic infrastructure of Europe’s cities. The product of those meetings will be the publication of the first E.U. Music Cities Policy Handbook, with recommendations and best practices for embedding music as a central feature of city planning and policy. The roundtables are open to representatives from organizations funded by an E.U. or U.K. city to support the local music economy. Interested representatives are asked to complete this online form. While most sessions will take place online, several sessions will take place in person, including the inaugural roundtable taking place today in Hamburg, Germany, in partnership with the Reeperbahn Festival.
