How are musicians creating social impact across European communities? A new, open-source publication, The Social-transformative Potential of Music Mediation, edited by Axel Petri-Preis, Sarah Chaker, and Annette Ziegenmeyer, explores ways that music is being used to foster intercultural communication and build more sustainable communities. The digital resource offers examples of music mediation (another term for “teaching artistry” in Europe) initiatives across five thematic sections: addressing cultural diplomacy, decolonizing practices, artistic citizenship, implications for higher education, and future projections for the field.
