European Music Industry Taking Steps to Address Gender Equality

06-21-2023

Women and gender minorities are significantly underrepresented in music, receiving less recognition, publicity, and funding than their male counterparts. The European Union has been making strides to address this issue thanks to their Gender Equality Strategy 2020–2025, but there is still a ways to go. This July 1315, Sturm Production, with support from the EU, will offer European Seminars for Gender Equality in Music. This is a free program open to music professionals in Europe who are interested in expanding their advocacy toolkit and supporting a healthier, more equitable music sector. Advance registration is required; attendees can also request up to EUR 150 to help offset travel and accommodation costs.
