Digital Music Platforms Cross the ‘East-West Divide’

12-11-2024

There are many ways that music builds bridges across cultures, and technology is playing a big role in accelerating those connections. Here are a few recent examples we’re seeing that may be of particular interest to readers in Asia and the Middle East.

The Saudi Music Commission recently launched MusiqAI, a self-paced music education platform teaching skills on Arabic and Western instruments and in music production. The program offers accredited certificates to learners. Learn more about the program at Arab News, which also provides registration information.

A new database, created by Family of East, connects Asian musicians, producers, and DJs with opportunities in the music industry, with the intent to “expand the role of Asian identities in the Western music world.” Applicants with Asian heritage can join by completing an online form. Read more about the database at MixMag.
