Singing for a Cooler Planet
04-03-2024
Across the U.K., choirs are coming together to raise their voices for change. The Climate Choir Movement has taken off as a creative disruptor to the status quo, organizing singing protests that call public attention to the perils of climate change. The movement, originally founded in Bristol by Jo Flanagan, now totals over 700 members in 12 choirs across England and Northern Ireland. Never underestimate the power of musicians to effect change—as Flanagan says in this BBC story, “I think we’ve hit a nerve here.”
