Music Leadership Training with Musicians Without Borders

06-21-2023

Applications are now open for a free training opportunity in the UK for arts facilitators interested in broadening their methodological toolkit. The program, run in tandem by Leeds Beckett University and Musicians Without Borders, will train participants in the working principles of the MWB music leadership programs that serve people impacted by war and armed conflict. In addition to honing participants’ practical skills in these areas, the program will provide a theoretical grounding for their work in nonviolence and trauma awareness. Arts practitioners of all disciplines and experience levels are welcome to apply. While you don’t need to be based in the UK to join, in-person participation is required in Leeds over a series of weekends (November 1819, January 1314, March 910, and May 1112). You will also be asked to deliver a series of workshops in a setting of your choice. Though it is free to participate, travel and accommodation is not included. Interested applicants can send a personal written or video statement to Dr. Tenley Martin by July 31, 2023, describing their background, experience, skills, and motivations. Full application instructions are available on the Leeds Beckett website.
