New Resource: The Posture Project
05-17-2023
What’s the backbone of healthy musical practice? As it turns out, our backbones; when our bodies feel at odds with our music–making, we risk injury, fatigue, and poor development. In response to growing concerns about young musicians’ physical health and wellbeing, the Academy for Impact through Music and Jennifer Stumm of Ilumina Music co-developed a resource called The Posture Project. The online video series offers tips and techniques from international orchestral musicians for playing with ease and without discomfort, using the natural power of our bodies. These videos are for musicians of any age or experience level who are interested in developing a healthy posture while reducing physical strain.
