Young Composers Invited to Apply for Leonardo 4 Music Awards

Calling all young composers! The Leonardo 4 Children Awards, envisioned as a Nobel Prize for children, is calling on young people across Europe to create original music in response to the urgent issues of climate change, gender inequality, and violent conflict. The Leonardo 4 Music Award is open to musicians ages 16–30 from the E.U., U.K., Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Western Balkans; applications, which include sheet music and an audio recording of the composition, can be submitted through May 31, 2023. The top composer will have the chance to see their piece featured in a UNICEF promotional campaign and receive a talent development budget of €500. The second- and third-place winners will each receive a prize of €300 and have their music featured at future Leonardo 4 Children events.
