The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) is taking steps toward realizing its 2022 Equity Action Plan to increase arts participation and engagement in historically underserved U.S. communities. The organization’s magazine American Artscape has released a series of issues that focus on the experiences and cultural impact of Black, Asian and Pacific Islander, and Native artists and arts organizations. Their latest edition, published in both English and Spanish, highlights the work of Hispanic/Latinx artists and organizations. One of the first priorities under the plan has been to expand language accessibility and translation services. As a result, the NEA now produces multi-language translations of their grant guidelines and offers captioning in Spanish and American Sign Language for videos and webinars.
