Young Musicians Take Part in Global Music Education Program, Encuentros

07-20-2022

This summer, over 100 young musicians (ages 18–26) from 34 youth orchestras around the world will come together as part of Encuentros L.A. 2022, a shared initiative from the Dudamel Foundation, led by Gustavo Dudamel and María Valverde, and the L.A. Philharmonic. Encuentros (Encounters) will welcome young musicians from around the world to an intensive orchestral leadership and music training program that includes community initiatives, masterclasses, and mentorship opportunities with international guest artists. It’s the first time that this intercultural gathering will take place in the United States; activities will last from July 19–August 4 and will culminate in a concert tour titled Musical Encounters with Dudamel and Esperanza Spalding. Follow along via L.A. Phil’s Facebook page.
