Fortissima Goes National

The Ensemble seeks to connect and inform all people who are committed to ensemble music education for youth empowerment and social change.

Fortissima Goes National

The Colburn School’s Center for Innovation and Community Impact is expanding Fortissima to become national. Launched by Jazmín Morales in 2017, Fortissima is an artistic and leadership development program for high school–age young women from minorities underrepresented in classical music who show an interest in pursuing a career in orchestral music. Fortissima’s national model will include a six-month leadership curriculum, rigorous artistic development, one-on-one mentorship, and a weeklong residential intensive at Colburn in Los Angeles this fall. Ten young women will be selected and the program is provided at no cost to participants. Applications are due April 2; learn more on Colburn’s website.
