Project Music Partners with Orchestra Lumos and GE to Create 3D-Printed Violins

With an assist from modern technology, music just became more accessible for young people. In a collaboration with Orchestra Lumos, Project Music students visited GE’s Co-Create space, where they had the opportunity to assemble 3D-printed violins suitable for a beginning musician—at a fraction of the cost. Project Music got even more mileage out of this clever initiative by having local artists paint the violins, which were then auctioned at a recent event to support the organization’s ongoing programs. What a cool way of tying together community collaboration, creativity, and fundraising know-how!
