When we think about the income generated by the music industry, we don’t usually think of music education as a major contributor.

Many years of research by the Glasgow Centre for Population Health on Big Noise Govenhill provide the deepest evidence of our field’s social and economic impact.

To keep a music program running these days, it’s not enough to just believe in the work. We must be able to demonstrate our impact.

Applications for the 2025 Music Cities Awards are now open through April 28, honoring music initiatives creating social, cultural, and economic impact on a local or international level.
