What Happened in Mexico City?

Recently in the The World Ensemble we featured an article about Las America Encuientros in Mexico City that brought together Sistema musicians from five U.S. programs, as well as young musicians from Puerto Rico, Argentina, Mexico, and the National Children’s Orchestra in Venezuela. Coming in April, you will hear about the experience from a student participant. Until then, you can read a description of Dudamel’s vision for the festival and how it worked out, by Mark Swed in the Los Angeles Times.
