Sounds of Palestine’s Important Performance

07-01-2017

In April, the Palestinian El Sistema program, Sounds of Palestine, located in Bethlehem, had the honor to participate in a special event where 13 students from their Al-Majdal Orchestra performed at the Netherlands Representative Office in Ramallah (the West Bank) for 350 people, including the Palestinian Deputy Prime Minister.

One teacher’s personal account of the experience: “We performed at the Netherlands Representative Office in Ramallah for King’s Day, playing the Palestinian and Dutch national anthems as a gesture of continued co-operation.  Guest singers were local talent Zaid Hilal and Dutch singer Anne-Marieke Evers.  A proud crowd of Palestinian youth if ever I saw one.”
