Music Enlightenment Project Perseveres in 2017

2017 was an amazing year for Music Enlightenment Project (MEP) in South Africa. The program moved into its new home and started picking up the pieces after being unable to teach for most of 2016 due to a lack of space or school. Teachers and students were able to keep the program alive amidst many difficulties, and were rewarded for their efforts: MEP registered 11 students for the regional practical music examinations and they all bagged DISTINCTIONS at different levels. This was a real confidence booster!

Music Enlightenment Project had two amazing and well-attended end of year celebration concerts at its new home. There were emotionally charged moments at both events as some parents couldn’t hold back tears of joy. “It’s been nine years of the pursuance of this vision without any major financial backing but events like these make it all worth it!” says MEP Music Director, Adeyemi Oladiran. Congratulations!
