Become an OrchKids String Fellow

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s OrchKids program has launched a two year String Fellowship, running September 2018 – May 2020 (summers are off). This year the program is seeking violin, viola, and cello players. String Fellows will gain experience in teaching, administration, and performance at OrchKids. They will teach in private and large group settings, and will learn OrchKids’ distinctive educational approach, which simultaneously fosters both students’ creativity and their instrumental skills. Each Fellow will also learn non-profit management skills in a chosen area – development, education, operations, or marketing – working with a mentor and taking on projects. As players, Fellows will program, curate, and perform at least two community engagement concerts a year, and they will have opportunities to learn from Baltimore Symphony Orchestra musicians. Fellows get $18,000/year, plus additional paid summer work options, for 30 hours/week. This first group of Fellows will be limited to U.S. applicants only.

Applications are due Friday, April 20th. Find out more HERE.
