Microgrants for Artists (and How to Find Them)

10-19-2022

The Awesome Foundation offers microgrants of $1,000 or less for “awesome ideas” that cross various disciplines worldwide. Applications can be submitted to Awesome Without Borders (worldwide) or to a local chapter under one of several categories; they’re currently looking for “water-focused project[s] that bring creativity, culture, and inclusion to the water,” among other themes. New projects that demonstrate clear community impact or existing projects that would benefit significantly from a small grant are prioritized. Visit their website to apply.

And if you’re interested in finding more grant opportunities for artists but lack the time to scour the Internet for them, consider signing up for Creative Capital, a free monthly newsletter offering grants, residencies, and other opportunities. Though it is primarily aimed at visual artists, this month’s issue shared The Awesome Foundation with us, so there is something for everyone.
