Five Tech Tools for the Elementary Music Classroom

Digital platforms for creating music are ever-increasing, and many of these tools are free and easy to use online. Joseph Thomas, an elementary school music teacher, shares some of his favorite platforms in this article for eSchool News. Free, online platforms like Chrome Music Lab can introduce students to music theory and composition through an engaging, multimodal approach to learning, while programs like Coldplay Dance Party cross-train students in different subjects, combining music with coding skills. These platforms don’t replace instrumental training and performance opportunities, but they do help expand our students’ creative thinking and know-how in the classroom.
