Forbes Under 30 Summit Comes to Africa

06-15-2022

In April, the Forbes Under 30 Summit took place in Africa for the first time, bringing together young entrepreneurs and social changemakers across the world. Among the featured presenters was Brass for Africa, a 95% African-led initiative providing music and life skills programming to children living in poverty in Uganda, Rwanda, and Liberia (learn more in this 2019 Ensemble interview). BfA is the only program we know in which faculty have the title “Music and Life Skills Teacher.” Sustainable impact is embedded within the organization, as many of the young people who participate in Brass for Africa programs return later as teachers. For a window into the event, you can watch this panel presentation featuring Andrea Berbegal, Director of Development, and Sumayya Nabakooza, Music & Life Skills Teacher.
