SHIFT Project Addresses U.N. Sustainable Development Goals for Cultural Sector

Many arts and cultural organizations are orienting—or have long been orienting—their work toward the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. A free new resource is here to help with that process: SHIFT—Shared Initiatives For Training. Developed by nine cultural networks and supported by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Program, this comprehensive guide offers manuals, guidelines, and toolkits that cover best practices on the subjects of cultural leadership, environmental sustainability, gender and power relations, and inclusion. All materials are available in English with selected resources in French and Italian. European organizations can benchmark their own progress on these topics and more through the Artsmetric Knowledge Base, another resource supported by SHIFT.
