New Resources from the League of American Orchestras

02-16-2022

The League of American Orchestras, which supports 700 member orchestras across North America, has launched three resources aimed at fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in the orchestra field.

Promising Practices: Actions Orchestras Can Take to Make Progress Toward Equity” is a free, downloadable PDF that shares 12 clear practices from orchestras who received League funding for their EDI work.

The League is also hosting a webinar titled “A Short History of Structural Racism,” led by educational consultant Ayo Magwood on March 8, 2022 at 1:00–5:30 p.m. ET. The registration fee is $60 for League members and $95 for non-members.

Finally, the League is hosting three webinars where you can discuss EDI work with peers: “Getting Started on the EDI Journey with the Kennett Symphony” (February 22); “Two Years In: EDI Challenges and Opportunities” (March 22); and “How Far We’ve Come: What’s Working and What Isn’t” (April 26).
