Study: Pandemic Is Negatively Impacting Pediatric Mental Health

01-19-2022

You know this is true, and now science backs you up. A study in Canada from the first year of the pandemic found significant negative effects on pediatric mental health. In addition to higher screen use and social isolation, the researchers found that worsening child mental health is linked to disruptions in sleep, physical exercise, and other prosocial activities. The exposure to online bullying, stressful news, and harmful advertisements during screen use could also be contributing to children’s poor mental health during the pandemic.
