Great Opportunity for Young Composers in the Los Angeles Area

03-17-2021

Here is an innovative opportunity for young people in the Los Angeles area. The LA Phil has launched the Nancy and Barry Sanders Composer Fellowship Program (CFP), which supports and guides aspiring young composers and young musicians to explore their music-writing skills. Designed by Pulitzer Prize–winning composer Steven Stucky, this tuition-free program is administered by the LA Phil and is open to students in grades 10-12 in the fall of 2021. Prior composition experience is not required, and sessions will be on Saturdays, starting September 2021. Fellows will attend masterclasses and community-building events and may have their works performed, read live, or recorded. Apply by April 5.
