NYC Composition Program Offers Mentorship from Professionally Trained Composers

03-02-2021

Opportunity Music Project in New York City has announced the launch of their new Composition Program. Honors Orchestra students will learn about composition from composer Alistair Coleman (The Curtis Institute) and violinist Njioma Grevious (The Juilliard School) in a ten-week lab that introduces compositional practices. Music by underrepresented composers will be studied in seminar discussions, and students will receive weekly mentorship on their pieces from Juilliard-trained composers.
