Arts Education Policy Review Publishes Special Issue on Community Arts Organizations

03-02-2021

A special issue of the Arts Education Policy Review brings together perspectives from community-based arts organizations around the world to reflect upon the ways in which they and the youth they serve responded to the pandemic from March – September 2020. The issue is co-edited by researcher Dennie Palmer Wolf (WolfBrown; lead researcher on the first national study of El Sistema in the U.S.) and Jeff Poulin (Founder of Creative Generation). The articles reflect the range of experiences we’ve all lived through. One article by Rodrigo Guerrero explores how three community-based arts organizations (two of them El Sistema-inspired programs in the U.S.) used principles of Creative Youth Development (CYD) to guide their pandemic adjustments. The issue will not be available as a single document until later this year, but the individual articles are free to access until April 30, 2021. Links to each article can be easily accessed via WolfBrown.
