Sistema-Inspired Program Featured in the Toronto Black Film Festival

02-17-2021

For our Canadian readers, the Toronto Black Film Festival is featuring a documentary titled NEOJIBA: Music That Changes Lives, focusing on the Maestro Abreu-inspired social integration program NEOJIBA in Salvador, Brazil. NEOJIBA shares personal stories from members of the Orquestra Juvenil da Bahia (Youth Orchestra from Bahia) in exploring how music directly impacts their lives and futures. Viewings are available in Canada only, but many short films will be made available to international audiences. The full festival will run online from February 10–21, and there is a ticket cost for individual screenings or full-access passes. Learn more on the Festival’s website.
