The Centre for Research in Psychology of Music and Music Education/The Institute of Ethnomusicology, Centre for Music and Dance Studies (CIPEM/INET-md) was born in 1998 at the Music Department of the Porto (Portugal) Polytechnic School of Education.  In 2015, it became a branch of the INET-md.

Celebrating 20 years, IC CIPEM 2019 brings together researchers, teachers and musicians involved in music education, performance and composition, concerned with the current challenges of music education in a changing world and eager to reflect on the roles of music in peoples’ lives in contemporary societies.  Proposals for presentations are invited in Portuguese, English or Spanish, to present a Paper (up to 15 minutes), a Panel (by three authors, up to 60 minutes), a Workshop (up to 60 minutes), or a Poster session.

Authors are invited to submit an abstract of up to 400 words, including the research objective, theoretical background, methodologies, findings, references, and 3 to 5 key words.  Proposals for Panels should include an abstract with the purpose and a general description of the session, and an abstract by each author.  The following information should be included: authors’ names, profession, affiliation, and contact details.
